We just did a menu change and added crab cakes to the menu. Here we are serving them with a spicy cabbage salad and a cilantro roasted corn relish.
Check out our menu for other new items. 
Kaiserschmarrn is my house favorite, but please it does take no less then 20 minutes to prepare. Please have patience and you will get to love this Austrian pancake.

Today was a sausage making day. We made Weisswurst, Bratwurst and turkey, sage and apple sausages.
I'll be making tofu,carrot and curry next.
The sausages are all Gluten Free!

Each area we are creating will have it's own feel. This is going to be one of our seating areas complete with vintage orange couches and Keane paintings.

Wow! we did all the floors today. They look amazing! We are so looking forward to decorating the space. Lenor has such a great eye for details and color.
We have an amazing collection of very themed 70's style decorations that will be going up soon.
Thanks to the help of Armando who has been instrumental in the space coming together.
I am going to start working more on the food pretty soon.

Today I finished building a log table which we will be using in our Lounge area.
The beams are 3" thick.


I also brined sauerkraut since it takes a good month to brine. It will soon turn sour as it begins to ferment.

Our Lighting is up now, looking so cool. It has been so exiting creating a new restaurant.
I think I'll need a couple of days off though.

A lot of our wall space is done in natural wood. It's going to be earthy and natural looking.

One of our tables from il Piatto contained a "secret drawer" that only some people knew about, others discovered it during their dining experience, but most did not.
When "The Slide Inn" opens you too can create your own memories if you discover the specific table where hundreds of messages were found.

We are officially closed as of today. I will post some pics of a  "Naked il Piatto" as we remove the heart and soul of what made il Piatto such a special place later today.
As we mourn the loss of il Piatto we look forward to a new beginning and what will soon be "The Slide Inn"

It's the big countdown with il Piatto closing in 5 days. That's right we close after dinner service on Sunday, March 18'th. After that I'll be slaving with the remodeling process which could take up to 2 whole months to redo what has been around for seventeen years.

Managed to pick up an orange couch today, should fit in nicely. Also got a few of those vintage star shaped wall clocks. Hopefully we will be done in a month or so. Working on my menu's this evening, next comes our Brunch menu. Going to have Vegan waffles with house made lavender syrup, does that sound good or what?

No Going Backwards

Today is the first day we will begin to announce our intentions. It is a sad day as we know we can no longer go back, at the same time I am very exited about our ideas and prospects of the future. We have some amazing ideas about the food, decor and all the incredible beers we will have. It has been a very creative past month deciding on menu items and interior design and colors.
